The Activity Monitoring Module of Lumigent® Audit DB™

The activity monitoring module of Audit DB delivers continuous, automated auditing of database activity to give you a complete understanding of “who’s doing what with your data.” The audit trail is tamperproof and cannot be circumvented even by privileged users with direct access to database assets.

How It Works
Audit DB uses non-invasive agents to audit database activities (DML, DDL, and SELECTs). Audit activity is collected ¬from the database transaction log and/or the network and is pulled into a central repository for analysis and reporting.

A Policy Engine and Color-coded Alerts
Audit activity is run through a policy engine to elevate key events considered “suspicious” or outside of policy. This helps narrow reported information to events that need review and reconciliation. Events are color-coded by criticality from low to medium, high, and critical so that the most critical events can be identified and reviewed immediately.

“Before and After” Values
Audit DB is the only solution for data auditing that can audit at the source of activity – at the data-level™. As a result, you can easily determine what information was changed along with its original value. These “before and after” details are critical in an audit and save enormous time and money in the event of an investigation.

A Continuous Approach
Audit DB delivers continuous database auditing that cannot be turned off, resulting in a complete and trusted audit trail. Other approaches, like network-only appliances, can miss activity when network packets are dropped or connections are down.

A Secure and Tamperproof Repository
Activity information from all audited sources is consolidated into a single repository for analysis and reporting. Audit sources cannot be disabled without an alert. The repository is secure and provides read-only access to audit information so critical history cannot be altered.
